Joe Walcott (March 13, 1873 – October 1, 1935) was a professional boxer from Barbados who reigned as the World Welterweight Champion from 1901 to 1906, becoming the first black man ever to capture the title. He is retrospectively known as Barbados Joe Walcott to distinguish him from American heavyweight Arnold Cream (1914–1994), who adopted the ring name Jersey Joe Walcott to honor his predecessor.
He was elected to The Ring Boxing Hall of Fame in 1955 and the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1991.
